Central Compounding Center South is
About Us
Jennifer L. Burch, Pharm.D.

Dr. Jennifer Burch received her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Campbell University School of Pharmacy in 1993. She returned to Durham after pharmacy school to work at the family owned independent pharmacy, Central Pharmacy. Central Compounding Center spun off of Central Pharmacy in 2003 in order to focus on compounding only. In 2006, she opened Central Compounding Center South.

She developed a practice that is strong in patient care. Customized hormone replacement therapy and nutritional supplementation are two of her specialties. Dr. Burch has attended numerous conferences on these subjects.

She pursued diabetes as an interest and is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP). She has a clinical practice at Durham Internal Medicine where she helps to educate and manage their patients with diabetes and other chronic diseases.

Dr. Burch is very active in local, state and national pharmacy organizations. She is the Past President of the Durham-Orange Pharmacist Association and served on the Executive Committee for the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists.

For fun, she likes to travel and still enjoys playing sports.

Jonathan Pritchett, Pharm.D., R.Ph.

Jon, a graduate of Campbell University School of Pharmacy, has been with Central Pharmacy and Central Compounding Center since 2005. His first job at age 16 was with a large retail drugstore and it is there that he decided to pursue pharmacy as a career. While in school he developed interests in several unique aspects of pharmacy, including asthma, diabetes, and cholesterol management, and pharmaceutical compounding. This, coupled with a desire to work with his patients on a more personal level, led him to Central Pharmacy. Jon is currently the Pharmacy-Manager at Central Compounding Center South, but also devotes time at the other sites dispensing prescriptions and working with disease-management. Areas of particular interest include men's health, erectile dysfunction, veterinary medicine, and sterile compounding.

Jon spends his free time fishing, playing guitar in several local bands, and hanging out with his wife Katie.

Darius L. Russell, Pharm.D.

Dr. Darius Russell received his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy in 2006. After graduating, he began working at Kerr Drugs in Durham as one of the staff pharmacists. After one year, he became the Pharmacist Manager. In 2008 he began working at Central Pharmacy (as Pharmacist Manager) and at Central Compounding Center (as a staff pharmacist). Dr. Russell quickly began implementing his clinical practice at Kerr through Medication Therapy Management (MTM) of Medicaid and Medicare patients while continuing his normal daily dispensing responsibilities, and now he continues the MTM services at Central Pharmacy.

Dr. Russell received his Immunization Certification while in Pharmacy School in 2005. Upon graduating and working at Kerr Drugs, he started administering Influenza Vaccines. At Central Pharmacy, he advanced the administration of Influenza Vaccines and added to that the administration of Herpes Zoster Vaccines. Over the past year he has given hundreds of vaccines.

Dr. Russell has a wife and three children. He enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and is very involved with his church.

Bill Burch, R.Ph., FACA

Bill is a 1970 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy. He is the founder, along with his wife Helen, of Central Pharmacy and Central Compounding Center. The pharmacy is now truly a family business with both his daughter Jennifer and son David in the business. He has over thirty years of compounding experience creating some innovative products for his patients. His goal has consistently been to always put his patients first, providing the best products and services possible. Currently, Bill is enjoying semi- retirement.

Bill is an active member of his church in mission work and serving as a deacon. He is a member of NC Pharmacists Association, National Community Pharmacists Association, American College of Apothecaries and the International Association of Compounding Pharmacists.
